Story-driven games w/ strong characters?

Please no fantasy/RPG. I love my PS4 but I'm having a hard time finding titles that I like.

Games I loved (PS3/PS4):

GTA V, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Resident Evil

I can't do Bloodborne, sorry not for me. I really don't like RPG games like The Witcher and Dragon Age, even though I really wish I did like games like this. I just can't get into potion making, magic, sword crafting esque open world games. I really dislike games that rely heavily on pausing, crafting, upgrading, combining, looting, etc. (So in essence, RPGs lol). Although that can be a loose term. I know this is probably an annoying post but I really am having a hard time finding games my style. The above list is just an example of the kind of stuff I generally like.

Not on PS4 but have you tried Mass Effect 1/2/3?

ME 2 and 3 especially are very light on all of menu madness.

• Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition
• Saints Row IV
• Alien Isolation (There is slight looting/upgrading but it's not that heavy)
• The Evil Within (I didn't care much for the game, but you said you liked resident evil, and it's similar)
• Wolfenstein The New Order
• Life is Strange

If you like Indies, I'd recommend

• Transistor
• Broken Age
• Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Since you're are looking for story-driven games with interesting characters, I'd also recommend checking out any of the Tell Tale games if they're you're style. I would suggest:

• The Walking Dead
• Game of Thrones
• Tales From the Borderlands
• The Wolf Among Us

• Bioshock Series
• Dead Space Series
• Saints Row the Third
• Jak and Daxter Collection
• Ratchet and Clank Series
