Should i buy Crisis Core if I have never played FF7?

Since apparently Sony doesn't intend on releasing FF7 on PSN anytime soon, i was wondering whether i should get Crisis Core already? I know it is sort of a prequel, but will it spoil the FF7 experience?

Play cc first then vii then VIII cos its got some summons from VII like odin and tonberry .... coolness. its word i never heard anything about angeal in ff VII

Unless you're into JRPG's then no. I've been playing my share of Persona 3 and enjoying it. I rented CC and can't stand it. My son is the same way. We've been chugging through P3 and it's ok...but CC is bad. To those of us who know NOTHING of the FF universe the game is horrible. Nothing is special or ground breaking. No situation means anything to us that know nothing of this bland game. Rent it. DO NOT buy it. IF you like it then by all means get it. But just rent it first.zombie91

persona 3 is awesome and, in my opinion, so is cc

i played ff7 but neva finish

think ill finish CC:FF

then fin ff7

Play FFVII first. There was a lot of cameos and fanservice in CC and you wouldn't understand them if you didn't play FFVIIpwner1

That was my thought. I guess thats what i don't want to miss out on.
