Hello, both these games are quite cheap right now and I want to pick one up tomorrow, but I am having difficulties deciding which. After watching both reviews, I am still unsure. I do plan to get both eventually, but I have to make a choice now. I really enjoy jrpgs like Final Fantasy, Skies of Arcadia, Golden Sun, etc. I am also a huge of fan of Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1/2 and Dragon Age so I am certain I will enjoy both. I am just looking for some feedback from people who have played either game or both. Thanks.

I say get Demon's Souls first then Resonance of Fate, both are great games and should not be missed. And Demon's Souls would be less frustrating than ROF.

hmm.... how is RoF cheap? i haven't noticed any significant price drop....

Demon's Souls has an online component, so there's added value. but i don't think the pvp community is anywhere as active as it was a year ago.

According to gamestop.ca, a new copy of Demon's Souls is 29.99$ and a new copy of Resonance of Fate is 34.99$. Although I think RoF is a special deal right now, so it might be wise to buy that first.

Ya in canada there was a price drop...here in the US it's not. If RoF was cheap, i'd buy it

look at this. so yea, at 34 you'll be ripping Sega off. go for it pronto. if you finish it quickly enough, you might even be able to sell it for a few extra bucks. revenue, baby!! :D

So I guess I am going to pounce on RoF for now. I am just worried as both games are quite difficult to find.

Demon's Souls was released in October of '09, so it hasn't really been a full year yet. I'd say get Demon's Souls.

I really liked both games. But if I had to choose just one it would be Demon's Souls.

My favorite genre is action games so DS fits in nicely with my tastes. Plus it has co-op, which is another thing that I really like in my games.

Of course, ROF is definitely a top caliber rpg. Whatever choice you make you really can't go wrong. Just make sure you eventually pick both of them up.:D

If you are concerned about availability, it seems to me that Atlus does tend to reprint their more popular titles eventually. Just look at Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga – those were hard to get, crazy expensive titles for awhile – before they both got major reprints that is. Today you can go on Amazon and get either one new for $30. I suspect that if DS does get scarce, it won't last, and it will get a reprint like the other Atlus hits.

Resonance of Fate has been 35 dollars for a while now.

Get Demon's Souls.

I was wondering the same thing. I think Resonance of Fate will go up in price again seeing how it's a special deal and not a permanent price drop. Might be wise to pick that one up first, Demon's Souls seems to be getting a full treatment drop, so you can pick that up whenever.

If I were you, I'll pick Demon's Souls. I'm still playing it and it's the best game I've played in a long while (except for MGS4).

It depends on what kind of game you want. Demon's Souls is a casually deep game which engages the easygoing hardcore crowd.

personally I prefered RoF a lot more than DS, but it looks like you're more into action RPGs, that way DS will not only fit your preferences better, but it also might give you a real challenge

I actually much prefer turn based jrpgs over action based rpgs.

Resonance of Fate is more int JRPG field but not completely and Demon's Souls is more action/rpg.

Personally, Demon's Souls is my recommendation.
