Hello All,

I have brought PS3 + Sony R56C 40" last week. What I observed is, in PS3 view, if I move the setting to 1080i or 720p or 568p, I am getting lots of red dots on the screen. It is working fine in 1080p mode. But if I play game like KillZone3, I see that it gets changed to 720p and the same story of Red spots continues. Im feeling helpless and I am not sure whether its the TV or the PS3 that is having problems.

Do you guys have any suggestions..I am clueless :(

@pawanwalker17: Plug in something else to the same input as the PS3, if the red spots disappear, then try the PS3 on another input.

@GTR12 I could connect the HDMI to my laptop and render my screen onto the LED TV. Note that in this case the TV is showing it in 1080p resolution. Should I try getting a new HDMI cable?.

Is it a 1080p TV or the 4k model?

I dont think its the TV TBH, if it is the TV, plugging in the laptop to the TV should cause the same problem (red dots).

If the laptop is fine, try the PS3 on a different input, if you get red dots again, the PS3 is faulty.

Thanks a lot man. I just resovled this problem. I plugged in TV wire to one switchboard and the PS3 wire to a different switchboard. With this, I do not see any red dots :).
