The Monster Hunter Freedom series is a great game where you can rome around and go online mode. Another great rpg game is Final Fantasy, but it doesn't have online play. Ohh...Mortal Kombat unchained has got an rpg mode called konquest where you can roam around the realms with Shujinko.The konquest mode doesn't have online mode though.

In CC and SO 1-2 the fights are engages so its not realtime+roaming. The fights themselves may appear in realtime but thats not entirely what the TC wants.
