It's definitely too soon, but I wish it wasn't. I've waited this long, I might as well go the next step up rather than get the one that's been out for almost 5 years. But I'll probably get one soon anyway since there are a few games I'd like to play on it.
deffinately not true because sony just announced the GO! they wouldnt do that

There was nothing about a release date in the link so we might not see the PSP 2 until 2012. Even then I doubt that these specs are real just because it's to early to be finalizing specs like that.

Considering the Go! will crash upon release I don't think it's that unlikely.
I wonder what type of format the PSP2 would run in. Would it still support UMD?
This makes no sense. The Xbox was way more powerful than the Dreamcast. And the Dreamcast isn't even as powerful as the PS2. Meanwhile the PSP is only like a PS1.7 in terms of power.megagenethanks for clearing that up. PSP= PS1.7 so i was a mix between PS1 and PS2. i want be surprise if PS2 games being on PSN this gen but it's should be there during PS4 and PSP2 . PSP2 should be a handheld that plays 1. PSP1 games 2. PS1 classics 3. PSN games old (PSP10and new(psp2) 4. PSP2 games 5. PS2 games. PSP2 will not only have a right stick but a L2/R2 and dont be surprised if rumble and motion being added. motion actually sense on a handheld.
I think this is nothing else like a rumor.. Sony will release PSP Go this fall, and they're preparing to release a huge list of new games, so they don't have time and space for creating new version of PSP (which could probably replace PSP Go..). This news is talking about prototypes/labs and projects in early state - everything can change. But, if it could be true - PSP2 will be awesome.. I own GCN and this means that it would be a waaay worse than new PSP2.. :)

I doubt it. Sony already said their original plans were to release the PSP with only downloads. I think they're better off going with downloads, or both. It'd be better for Sony to cut costs and for the sake of backwards-compatibility, unless they decide to use a disc-drive compatible with UMDs and a new format.
Anyways, this all seems like bull to me.
' More like 2014 fall, by that time the Go would have had its 5 years. There is no PSP2 on the way, it is shame some people dont seen to grasp Sony is not making it because they keep talking about an imaginary product. This is all a load of crap. With the GO just about to be released, we wont see a new PSP till 2011 at the earliest.

That'd be interesting to see for sure, but I'm curious about the price tag... I haven't been too happy with Sony lately :\
I think it should be the same level as the Wii. That would be awesome!!!
AmayaPapaya
I've seen games on the PSP that look better than most of the ones on Wii.
