My PSP Slim will hold as many files as space allows for on the MS Duo, but each of the media folders (video, music, pictures) will only show the first 1000. Does anybody know of a way to get past this?
I have various sizes of MS Duo that I keep for storing larger videos like movies and tv seasons I rip from my dvd collection. But I use an 8 gig for all my permanent everyday use PSP activity. I was considoring getting a 16 gig MS Duo but it seems that regardless of how much space you have free, only the first 1000 files in each of the root folders will show up on the PSP desktop.
For example:
If I have 1256 pictures stored on my PSP, only the first 1000 show up on the PSP and the last 256 are invisible. They are still stored on the device, but the PSP will not let the ones after 1000 show up while using the XMB, even if I have several gigs free.
The same goes for music and videos. Even with plenty of free space, only the first 1000 show up on the PSP. I have a lot of crashes and wipeouts from YouTube, and some are as short as 4-12 seconds, so it's easy to accumulate hundreds and hundreds of small videos while not taking up a whole lot of space.
Is there a way around this other than moving excess to another MS Duo? I like to keep stuff together and don't want to split up certain directories. Does anyone know if Firmware 5.0 allows for more than 1000 files to appear in a root directory? I use 3.90.
I was considoring getting a 16 gig MS Duo so I could condense some of my 1 and 2 gig MS Duo and just add it all to my main one (currently 8 gig which isn't big enough) to store it all. In my case a 16 gig MS Duo won't help me out, since only 1000 of each filetype is allowed. It's very easy to accumulate several hundred pictures either by dumping a digital camera, or by downloading pictures from a website, it seems to me that 1000 files is not a whole lot to choose from when you could potentially have many more.
How do I get past this annoying obstacle and make the rest of the pictures and videos display without splitting directories up into various MS Duo? Does anybody else atleast have this issue? Or annoyed by the limited number of slots allowed? I have Googled and have found nothing related to this.
I know Ipods do this, I think the 180 gig Ipods held up to 40,000 mp3s but no more than that regardless of freespace. The smaller or medium sized Ipods have a cutoff of 20,000 songs. I think my 2nd generation Nano had a 4000 song limit. What is this term called?
