I don't really know what they could do to the PSP. When the origional PS2 was out it was obvious it was loud and huge, so the slimline was a logical step. The only thing I can see with the PSP is another analog stick.
The PSP will not have a redesign like the DS because it cant possibly look any different (better) since it is perfect... the screen is exactly the right size for it to be an exciting adventure without having to have a huge console... Sony made it so that the system would be the smallest with all its features so there is nothing to improve. What Sony "might" do is just add some features to the already indisputible PSP design such as - longer battary, hard drive and second analog stick.
Nintendo just made it bulky for no reason. Thats why they made it cooler now.
Back in the summer I put this little design together, hoping for a better handheld in the future. The PSP2 (or PSP redesign) would be offered in 3 flavors, Gaming Edition, Media Edition and Pro Edition. The animated links work, its just takes awhile for them to download. The PSP does'nt really need a redesign you really cant make a system this pretty look any slimer or better. Also a redesign would really make the people that have the original PSP mad.
I expect a new PSP around the time that the PSP2 is coming out kind of how sony made a new PS1 when the PS2 was almost out and they made the PS2 slim line now that the PS3 is almost out.
maybe they could make it more durable, the psp itself looks great except for the analog stub, maybe they could move it higher and closer to the screen. it doesnt feel to comfortable just like the original ds.

i would just like to say whoever created that design and did that movie thing, you rule and you did a terrific job, i would just put a second analog stick and also how did u do that? and you did an awesome job!!
A new anolog stick would be nice, but would be impossible right now because then the older games wouldn't take use of it and it'll just be there and it would make the PSP's playing experience not as comfortable.
Sony is so proud of their previously flawed gadget that i highly doubt any redesigns will take place. It could use a juicier battery, but thats about it. You can't stick a HD into a very slim one, and UMDs are more convenient for Sony to put games on. So, dig what tou got, buy a diff shell if you get bored or a skin or something.
No way will they redesign it right now. One of the things that Nintendo gets flamed for is constantly upgrading their systems and making one-year-old systems obsolete. I doubt Sony would just change it cosmetically anyways, if they changed it it would be a complete overhaul and there isn't anything so bad with the PSP right now that people would go spending another $250 to buy a new version.

there have been rumors that sony is redesigning the psp, but i highly doubt they are. i think the psp is prefect the way it is, the only thing i can see sony doing is adding features, but not redesigning it

Yes, I think it will be redesigned. If you are a bigger person, the PSP may be a little hard to hold on to comfortably. What I have seen is a PSP that is a little move squared off at the bottom of it. It would be sweet if the sceen would be bigger because of this change as well.
