ps4 slow download speed?

When i get a new game and insert it, it installs quickly and then takes at least 4 hours to update is this normal?

@benny_boy98: It depends on the size of the update file. Installing a game is always going to be a faster process than downloading a file straight off the internet. ESO took 3 hours I think to update yesterday, but it was a 15gb update.

PSN speeds are genually pretty appalling, I tend to download anything during the early hours of the morning and have my system in rest mode

i have a 152mb connection and often get download speeds of less than 1mb at peak times lol :/

With both hard wired i get 1mb at peak on PS4 and 15 or so on Xbox One. Seems to be a PS4 issue.

The only thing I wonder is:

Are you using a wireless connection?

If so, cut it out! Use a hardwired connection as you should!

PS3 had slower download speeds, but the PS4 is quite speedy by comparison.

Obviously though, the size of the file is going to matter. I think the longest download for me was a 25+ GB download for DC Universe MMO game.

Must admit the update for GTA5 downloaded very quickly for me last night, and this was around 6pm UK time which is usually really busy. I was getting around 2-3MBps. Maybe I just got lucky, I know Sony were looking into slow download speeds, in Europe at least anyway
