Let me save everyone else a post here.

Go jump in a pool and open your eyes underwater without goggles.

Now do the same thing with goggles.

Its about the same thing.

I gotta remember that anology because that is the best one anyone has ever used.

Now to TC the difference will blow you away once everything is set-up correctly.

For the first two days that I had my PS3, I used the composite cables on my 27" SDTV. After two days I couldn't stand it so I went and got a 42" full HD LCD and an HDMI cable. The difference is more like jumping in a septic tank at night without goggles versus snorkling in a pool of Evian.

This has to be the best and funniest answer I've read in months. It's so good I had to tag it.

Thats insane. Is a 720p LCD TV with an HDMI cable good enough since most PS3 games are maxed out at 720 p.

Good anology. But it's not thar bad!

PS3 is still playable in SDTV...but HDTV is 100000000000000000000000000000 times better

The difference is incredible, and owning a PS3 with-out an HDTV is pointless! I personally think the component cables offer a crisper picture than the HDMI. I have a 52" Samsung 1080 capable that is absolutely flawless.

I suspect future games will all start supporting 1080P resolution and BD discs already are, that's why I made absolutely certain mine was full HD native. But YES, 720P is definately good enough at the moment.
