So i just got a PS3. My internet router is downstairs while my ps3 is on main floor. So the only way to hook it up is for my dad to drill a hole through the floor and pull the wire through. My question is, is it really necessary to hook it up to the internet, for updates, DLC, etc.?
I think it would be necessaryfor updates, and if new games you have include little bugs and stuff, but other than that, you don't really need it 100% to have the full experince IMO.

Why not just have your dad get a wireless router, The Ps3 has Wifi built in
