PS3 image please help

so I'm visiting relatives in NY, and I brought my PS3. When I hook up the component cables to the tv, the picture on the right and left hand sides flicker a bit, and the color is way way off. When she wants to watch tv, all I do is unhook the component PS3 and plug the tv component cables back in, and the picture is perfect. anyone have any suggestions?

Oh, and the color of the ps3 games seems very yellow.

you might hook it up without turning on the PS3 then switch to component and wait for no signal cue then turn on the ps3.

I tried what the first guy said and it worked! Thank you! But yeah, it was the same set of cables.
