So I bought a Dell 2409 flatscreen monitor for my PS3 and hooked it up using HDMI. The monitor doesn't have speakers so I also got a Dell soundbar for it and after setting it up when I go to play games all I can hear is static. Anyone know of any ways to fix this problem? Please help
Thanks in advance

Hmmm my ps3 has sound through my 22 inch dell's soundbar. How did you connect it. I'm sure you used the red, yellow, couplets, y convertor to phono jack.

I just used an HDMI cable from my PS3 to the monitor. It's weird because when the main menu for the PS3 comes up it works fine but then when I go to play games it's just all static.

Hmm. i used a separate hook up to the soundbar bar and basically connected the speaker jack in the sound bar to the red and yellow rca cables. The ps3 can output audio and video to separate locations. I never tried audio through hdmi.
