PS3 charging for online play?

i heard and i don't know if this is a rumour but i heard that Ps3 will be charging for online in 2010 at a starting price of $75 because their going bankrupt, i just want to know is anyone can shed some light kuz its really sad since thats the only thing i look forward to.

People, people, nothing is set in stone! They are only considering a premium option. Either way, what we have now isn't going anywhere (Kaz promised!)

Although, Sony will add on an extra subscription-based service with extra content that you WILL have to pay for. Nothing will be lost if you dont' pay.

Not yet, but I guess those PSN spam chain mails was half true.

I disagree with having to pay to be able to play one of the games modes. You buy a game and that's one of it's modes. If Sony charges for me to play online then I simply wont play online. I've bashed MS for charging and I stand by it. I wont pay to play online.

Okay, I'm glad it's an optional fee because once I saw the message on my PSN I kinda get concerned...main reason why I got the PS3 in the first place was for the FREE netplay.

I don't even see how they could implement that without getting a huge backlash even if it's only for a premium. Regardless, although Sony is still losing money on each PS3, the amount of money they gain for the fact that blu ray won and also considering how much untapped potential the system STILL has and how many people have started to get them. I'm pretty sure Sony's Playstation department is well and good in the money department.
