PS2 games on the Playstation Network...

I don't know how the Network really works.. i'm assuming they need the rights for a game to be publicized on there, but just imagine how much money these compagny could make rereleasing games like the Final Fantasy serie for the PS1 and 2, God of War serie and more... i'm wondering why they don't? Is there something i'm not understanding...?

Is there a reason why there's so little games for the PS1 and none for the PS2 available to download? Isn't free money good enough for these compagnies???

The only game we're getting are Geometry Wars clones so far...

My best guess would be that because the PS2 is still selling why would they? I'm sure something might happen when the console itself stops selling but it's still got pretty strong sales for such an old console.

because they have to get the companies that made those games to give them the rights to port and distribute the game digitally and work out financial arrangements and blah blah.

and because PS2 games are easy to find in stores still and have a higher profit margin.

What i can't understand is, why the hell does my 40gb ps3 have an option for an Internal ps2 memory card (in the data management blade) if the 40gig CANNOT support PS2 BC_Cab0ose87_

Same OS for all PS3's... so no need to change some interface elements.

C'mon there's like 12 titles on the Network! Have at least the Final Fantasy games... don't tell me Square are getting good sales off these titles nowadays...

so what if sony havent been in the market as long as nintendo have? they still have some great ps1 games, namely the final fantasies. the game chrono cross is another one of the top of my head

Maybe at some point, but they ps1 games are cds (upto 700mb)

ps2 games are on dvd (upto 4.7gb)

so ifu were to download ps2 games it may take alot of room
