The problem is that I was playing my ps3 normal like alwasy with my composite cables, but my cousin came to my hojme and brought this shiny componenet cables for me to try them and see the difference between both. The problem is that when we were changing the cables my cousin got excited and put make force when entering the compo cables and they kind of not were enter correctly when we turned ON the PS3 there was no image but only sound. LAter I tried to put them on my own and saw the mess he did, I had to apply alot of power to take the cables out. When I entered them normal there was sound and image but now I am afraid that he damage the inside of the port and I am not getting the full quality. CAn that be possible or they work or don't work not by half. Also the image was running on 1080p. So can anyone tell me if this is me being perfectionist or I need to compare it to his PS3 to see if he damage anything.

your TV have an HDMI input? thats really the way to go anyway. So you are worried about the connectors on your TV? if the image is ok and not jumping around or colors are a mess you are probably just fine.

Unless when you look at the screen and there is something wrong with the picture then everything is probably fine. You could try with a different cable but I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference.

You should tell him to be more carefull when using your ps3.

Um yea the image is fine thanks guys. Also I was gonna tried some HDMI cables but my cousin didn't bring em because he told me they must be bad quality for sometimes the skip like frames. I wanna get some but I don't know which brand is good and at a affordable price. Since I don't want them to do the same stuff he is telling me about. I will ask him another time to see what he is talking about.

this happened to me once. Your ps3 is not broken. what you have to do is insert your original cable and turn of the ps3 and turn of the switch at the back. place your finger on the power sensor then turn on the switch at the back WITHOU removing your finger from the power sensor. Wait for two beeps then release. What you did is a hard reset and should restore everything to normal. Your files and saved games will still be there but everything else (wallpaper, themes etc) will be back to factory settings. ACtually took me 2hours on hold with a sony rep to get mine fixed when this happened 6months ago

Wow 2 hours what kind of service do they have... Anyway now I know that the cables can be working or not. The thing I wanted to know if the image could get choppier like blurry for placing the cables on the PS3 port on an incorrect way but you guys are telling me that if I don't see anything weird on my screen then it should be al ok.
