i know youpay for the card but, do you have to pay money tothe playstation shop to if you use a playstation card

I'm pretty sure it like an itunes giftcard, you enter the pin number to your account on the store or when you purchases something on the store and it credits that to your account.

Yeah, after you use up the card, you either have to get another one or use a credit card. It won't let you buy whatever it is you're purchasing unless you either have a credit card on the account or have the appropriate amount of credit.

I thought the playstation card was a pre-paid "gift card" so after you buy something at the PSN store, it takes the money off the card until there is nothing left.

No - you enter the code and the full amount transfers to your "wallet" then as you spend then money in your wallet decreases! :)

Anything on the PSN - version of PSP makes no difference - as yet there are no "Go" only games - and given that there aren't any major "game-playing functionality" differences I don't believe there ever will be!
