I've only ever heard of a few cases where the PS3 has overheated. I wouldn't be surprised if they were simply trolls looking for attention either. All in all, it's not a problem whatsoever.

I live in Arizona and it's hot as the sun here and I've had no problems with overheating. Sometimes the fan in it will cycle up pretty high though and then turn back down when it cools itself off.

No real problems what-so-ever here bud. but do yourself a favor and make sure the right side of your PS3 has room to breath, do not block it. i have heard more problems with the intercooler...but again might just be trolls.

The PS3 has such a highly advanced cooling system as long as the vents have room to breath there really isn't a chance of overheating. Unlike even a PC that could cost close to a grand just for a cooling system that would do about the same thing.

Nope, when you pay $600 for a brand name gaming system you know it's quality.

when u pay $600, u get your money worth. i have had mine own for at least 3 days at once, me and friends were having a blast with resistance. it was warm at times, but thats every system. the fan got a lil loud at times too, but it quieted down after a couple seconds. the only over heating problems r trolls wanting attention and if u hear bout ones in like walmart and target, etc. u have to keep in mind that they keep the poor thing on at all times and it hardly has n e place to exhaust the heat being that it is in a small display case. other than that which ive never seen, i have never had n e problems. the only thing was that it froze once while playing oblivion, but that was my fault so i take blame for that.

Funny you bring this up I'm was testing mine out to see how long it would last. I had it on since 11:38 AM on friday and right now its 1:42 AM saturday morning. so in other words if it dose then someone would have to play a very long while for it to.

Not mine. and I had it on a lot, like, all day sometimes....... Im too lazy to turn it off. it doesnt make much noise at all, maybe becuz of that, that's why I had it on most of the day. I should turn it off now cuz it's time for me to go to bed.

Mine has never overheated, its gotten warm but never hot. You can buy cooling systems but why would you want to turn a PS3 into a noismaker, I mean a 360?:D

I've been told the PS3 manual says the machine has an auto shut off feature to prevent overheating, if it gets too hot it shuts off.

this is one reason im probably going to get a ps3 and not a 360.now that the price has dropped it makes me more interested in buying one.the ps3 has a better design for the cooling than the 360 does just go to the site where they take one apart.its only got 1 fan but its blowing right on the heatsinks.so unlike the 360s dual fans sucking air out and the gpu having no room to breathe under the dvd drive.thats why it has the red ring of death.yes you could be stupid and place your ps3 in a tight space and make it overheat.but thats not sonys fault if it dies.time to go to walmart and get me a ps3.

No overheating problems with my PS3, although I did buy the Hori Cooling Fan for added insurance.
