It isn't a slim but they are finally making a PS4 with a 1TB hard drive, making it slightly lighter and more energy efficient. I also hear that amazon leaked a 1TB xbox one. I guess this is why there have been so many sales for the PS4 lately so they can clear out the 500gb. I'm surprised that it took so long to come out with the 1TB model.

@BH14:

Most of the PS people have known this for a week now, its not new.

Also there's been a 1TB Xbone for 9 months...

I doubt many PS people even care of 1TB model, you can buy a 500GB console and swap out a 2TB HDD.

What would be cool is that Sony releases an update ( like MS did with the 360 ) that enables the PS3 and 4 to accept an external HDD.

I would just like a slim model. Anyone who needs 1TB of storage has probably already done it themselves. They also need to lower the prices for the back to school and holiday shopping season. I can see $349 for the 500gb and $399 for the 1TB.

To be fair, the PS4 is actually much smaller than the PS3 slim as the PS3 slim is wider. If the PS4 was a monster size like the old phat PS3, I can understand the need for a slim. However the more that I look at the comparison videos of the PS4 size to PS3 slim, it may not happen any time soon or even possible at all. We may get a future slim model but I don't think it would be that much smaller than the original PS4.

I'd be perfectly happy in getting this new 1TB PS4 model..... Most likely on black friday.
