I just got threw prepping my PSP to go on vacation.
Where am I going? Nowhere, but my PSP is going on vacation with a friend for 1 week.
I prepped my PSP in its travel case with 5x UMDs, a cleaning cloth, and wrapped up the charger.

While doing this, I began to wonder....would other people lend out their PSPs to a friend for a week?
What if I said this friend was going out of state?

What would you do?

You're a good friend to trust someone with such a fragile expensive item.  I hope your friend enjoys and takes care of it.

As for me, I wouldn't do it.  I've had too many bad experiences lending games and consoles to friends.

About 7-8 years ago I let my friend borrow my N64 and he brought it back, later i let him borrow one of my Gameboy Colors. (When they were cool) Then the little bastard moved away and stole it along with my super nintendo and 25 games.

You're a brave friend! I've stopped lending cd/dvds/games to anyone, I'd never lend such a fragile item like PSP to anyone!

Well, if you know him really well, and know that he is gonna return it then yeah. But my advice to you is, never trust another soul. I remember lending out $1500 to my friend, and it's been a over a year since I talk to him. I dont even know where he is now.. So i suggest you don't do it. Please think twice before you do it.

I've let people borrow DVD box sets and the boxes come back all banged up and it looks like someone has sat on them. So if that's how they treat someone else's property I would never let them borrow my PSP. The only other person who uses my PSP is my wife.

Well, its been exactly one week since I lent my friend my PSP. I'm happy to report that it came back in one piece! No scratches, no dings, no greasy finger prints, no crud stuck between the buttons. It came back in the same condition I lent it out to him. Needless to say, I was very pleased. But I wouldn't have lent it out to him if I expected anything less. I noticed he takes extremely good care of all his consoles. His PS3 especially! So, that why I didn't have a problem lending him my PSP. But thats probably the last time I lend it out to anyone! :P

Use your best judgement. Take notice of how he takes care of his consoles and his game boxes and DVD's. The only people I would let handle my PSP is my wifee and my brothers. Make sure you get some sort of collateral like your friends 360. With all the stuff you are giving him its about equal.

I couldn't do that. I'm a huge perfectionist, and I know one of my friends would screw it up a little somehow.

No way I'm paranoid about my psp. I won't hardly even let anybody else hold it. Although I'm like that with all my stuff I take extremely good care of my stuff. The one time I let my gf play my psp with me, everytime it was her turn in the game she had to hold her hands on her lap while I gently laid it in her hands. So yea I'm kinda cautious with mine.

no one touches my psp. i have modded mine quite a bit and it would take a good amount of effort to get a stock psp the way mine is.

I don't lend out consoles or handhelds period. I sometimes lend out games but I don't like to because I've had many bad experiances as well.
