I was playing COD4 and than the Ps3 shuts off automatically and the red light starts blinking and there is a yellow that blinks one time and dissapears. And the back of the PS3 is not really hot and I didnt really play for a long long time. I shut off the back power switch and turn it back on after an hour later, and the same thing occurs. The red light blinks again and now I cant turn on the PS3. Can anyone help me PLEASE.
:shock: It's called the Yellow Light of Death. Once you get it I don't think there's any way to fix it except to send it in to Sony. If you have a 60gb, you probably won't get the same one back. You'll probably get an 80gb with no BC.
Maybe it is hot because that IS EXACTLY what happens when its hot. Maybe there's an internal problem with heat, if not then your PS3 is probably bust, but I think that there is a heating problem occuring, maybe one of your fans isn't working as it should.
EVERY time i read one of these threads (my ps3 shuts off/got yellow light/wont turn on) that person is playing CoD4 when it happens. The game MUST use extra heat or something because it is literally in every topic i read.

that is not true, my friend had to send in his ps3 (60GB) cuz of certain games freezing on him like GTA4 with that freezing problem, and he sent his ps3 in and got a new 60GB back, he even called and made sure that hes not gettin a 40gb or a 80gb, so it all depends
