ive got a 60gb ps3, had it 4 a awhile, and im quite exited about mgs4, but want to catch up on the series, and want to play all the old games, but does anybody know if they are one of the few games that work on the ps3.
MGS1, 2 and 3 all work perfectly fine on the ps3. There are hardly any ps2 games that dont work on the ps3...you can check them out at the playstation website anyway.
I have MGS 2 and 3 on me and 2 works perfectly, 3 does not. 1 in every 3 codec messages system crashes the console which is very very irritating and almost unplayable. Then again, this is my UK 60GB PS3 with software backwards compatability. The hardware compatability on the other 60GB consoles should be able ot handle it.
Have an 80GB PS3 and all threee have worked fine with the 80GB software emulation, MSG3 will have a little slowdown, but its playable and only happens for a few seconds
U.S. 60 gig works fine with mgs 1,2 and 3. The only "noticeble issues" i found with mgs 1 on ps3 was how the graphics have aged over the years compared to the newer systems. But besides that everything's worked like a charm.
