Just a thought will Killzone 3 have better visuals than the already stellar Killzone 2 visuals or will it be the same just with more destructability and stuff like that? Naughty dog said they could make U3 look better than U2 so lets hope guerilla can up their game too
Yeh man, definately. KZ3 is rumoured to be release in the first half of next year, so you can bet they are gonna be tweaking the hell out of that engine. I loved KZ2, and i rekon this one is gonna be better.
I have a feeling it'll look noticeably better. Maybe not night and day, but significant. Look at Uncharted to Uncharted 2. Uncharted looked great already, but Uncharted 2 looks amazing. My guess is that it'll have sharper textures less affected by blur since they'll more than likely chuck the Quincunx AA for MLAA like they used in God Of War III and they're using in LittleBigPlanet 2. The difference in results is astounding.
I wonder how much further they could take Killzone..the graphics are good, but they do look like they could be better if you play it lets say today. I'm sure they'll find something to improve on if it's not the graphics.
nope, I don't think they will be any better at all, because, unfortunately, KZ3 will be one of the main Sony guinea pigs for 3D gaming.... so if anything the graphics will be actually a little worse, like lower resolution, to make room in processing for the damn 3D gimmick....
In my personal opinion, it's not the graphics that matter, but the game play itself. Just look at all the Doom and Quake players still out there. But, seeing as this is what the topic is about, yes. I do honestly feel the graphics will be better for the third installment.
I'd have to agree. KZ2 controls were unpleasant and a turn off for most. As long as they improve the controls, story, and dialogue. Add co-op and a Helghast campaign and it'll be be damn near perfect... Definitely worthy of taking the FPS crown from COD & Halo.
Yup, most definitively, developers always find ways of optimizing the engine, naughty dog's uncharted and insomiac's ratchet and clank future series would be good examples. By optimizing the engine developers can tweak physics, graphics, textures, you name it!
It blows my mind how they can continue to improve the graphics more than they have. I'm sure it'll be done though and my jaw will drop again, I'm sure. But nevertheless gameplay, in my opinion, is more important. Also while the controls weren't as bad as I thought they would be from people complaining about them, they do need some tweaking.
I'm sure the graphics will see some improvement, but really... how could you complain if KZ3 looked just like KZ2? That game's graphics still amaze me. :D
I second this. The way they made the game was different. Having the weighty feeling. It was very difficult to switch from play a CoD game to this or whatever. They really need more maps, better ranking and unlock system, and a crap load more weapons and characters. You should be able to pick or customize your guy. As for visuals they need to get rid of the brown shades. Also need to improve character movement and their textures.

Every game sequel has improved graphics than the previous.. so yes, it'll be improved. I haven't read anything on it.. but with games, even if they use the same engine, the developers always heavily modify it to make it look much better. A lot of people focus on visuals, a lot of games are hyped but how great they look.. if a game sits back and doesn't bother to try to look good, it either has stellar gameplay or the devs just dont care if it flops.
I'm pretty sure it will. I thought the 2nd one was great, loved. The only thing I want in the third is have them put the flamethrower in multiplayer, that would be so cool!
I imagine they will appear better, just by making even better use of the technology at hand using new techniques. Not a whole hell of alot of room to improve, but I'm sure there will be a difference.
