Saw this thread in SW and thought it was worth mentioning over here as well

Famitsu has brought us news of a KH 1 final mix, Re:CoM (the PS2 port of the GBA game) and a theater mode to watch 358/2 Days cutscenes in HD

All with trophies and HD resolution.

So I'm guessing 2.5 HD will be 2 Final Mix, BBS and theater mode of Re:Coded?

Makes sense put KH 1,KH Chain & KH 365 on this collection and then a couple months later announce another collection containing KH 2,KH Birth & KH Dream Drop.... Personally I only wanted 1 & 2 but I guess this is ok since I never played any of the other titles.

Dream Drop just came out. I seriously doubt they'll be porting it so soon.

You're right about that lets just hope this leads us to KH III.

And it appears that as of right now the game is a Japan only release.:(

It's Kingdom Hearts though. It'll come but probably not for a bit longer.

Why did they choose the least important spin offs? KH1, KH2, and maybe BBS. The choice of titles here is extremely stupid. I honestly think Square's Japanese division is run by a bunch of chimps.

Keeping my fingers crossed this comes stateside - although we haven't got FFX HD as of yet, which was announced over a year ago...

That's what we all wanted to believe with, so far, three Final Mix games.

Okay, first off all... ZOMG!!! OMG!!! HOLY SNICKIES!!!!!!!!!1 HNNNNG!!!!!!! :D

Now that that's out of the way, I'm a little disappointed that there's no Kingdom Hearts II HD and and that Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days will only be watchable instead of playable. However, beggars can't be choosers. Besides, they're openly referring to this title as "1.5" which must mean they're woking on a "2.5" HD Collection that includes Kingdom Hearts II, Birth By Sleep, and either Re:Coded cutscenes or Dream Drop Distance cutscenes in high-definition. Either way, we'll see something more.

So, with that said, FINAL MIX EDITIONS?!?! GIMME!!! DAY ONE!!! *dumps out wallet* TAKE IT ALL, SQUARE!!! I WANTS!!! GIMME HD COLLECTION 2.5 WITH KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX AND BIRTH BY SLEEP FINAL MIX TOO PLEASE!!!! :D

Forgive me. I've been waiting for this collection for a loooooooong time. :P

Would have preferred II to be there as well, but yeah I'm getting this.

This is as close to Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS3. So an HD collection of Kingdom hearts is welcome news. Hoping for a North American release.

They've always screwed US and EU over when it comes to Final Mix versions.. It'll be a surprise if this makes it over here. If they do release it I have a feeling they wont include the final mix version but instead include the normal US/EU versions of the game.

Would that really make much sense though? Square would have to remaster two sets of games: one with the Final Mix content (for Japan) and one set without (for North America/PAL territories).

I think they'll release the final mix content worldwide but then add more content for a "Re:Final Mix HD Collection" later on exclusive to Japan. That sounds like Square.
