Ya I read that, and my PS3 is like 2 feet away lol. Had my PS3 in that spot for a year almost and nothing wrong with either the TV or the PS3.

hmm. So I guess having it right on top of the tv is bad then?

Can't really move it though... none of the wires (video/optical/power) are long enough. =/

Static and electronics don't mix...that's why. It's a slim chance but, you could end up frying the PS3 due to all the static coming off a tv screen. Sony HAS to put every detail in there, cause if they didn't, somebody would be like "Hey! You never said that putting a PS3 next to a tv would fry it!"

Think of it as birth control. They say it's 99% effective. Yeah, it's 100% effective when you use it EXACTLY like it's supposed to be used, but they can't say that because they'd get the crap sued out of them.

don't think anyone should trip out on it just because some dude decided to read some fine print lol... it's been over a year there hasn't been any issues with this... just some guy with time on his hands stirring up a buzz.

don't CRT's mainly have that static thing. I've never noticed the static on my LCD. And my PS3 is right next to it and I've never had any problems. I don't have enought room to put it any farther away from it...

Uh, who doesn't keep their PS3 within 2' of their TV? Every console I've ever had has been in close proximity to a TV, and I'm not about to change!

Haha, now that I reread what it says it the safety and support manual, I think I misread it. It says: "Use in a well-lit area and keep as far away as possible from television screen." I now see they meant the user and not the device, so you won't have seizures. Sorry, my mistake, I wasn't trying to stir up **** I swear! I love my PS3! Ratchet rules and HS would have AAA written all over it if it was 12-15 hours long! I was just looking out for my fellow PS3 users, I figured some kind of interference could mess up the TV in the long run.
