Jeanne d'arc, Persona, and Disgaea (both of them are worthy additions to an RPG fans collection). I actually think Crisis Core is an incredibly weak game, in all areas aside from visuals.
BTW i got hooked on Silverfall , its a pretty cheap port but its catchy nonetheless. I dont know if its released outside of Eastern Europe yet tho. GS says its TBA
FFVII( Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core). The game is awesome! The music, action, story, characters, and everything! Even though the game is kind of short and very easy to beat, it is a really good game.
I suggest Final Fantasy Crisis Core, it is by a longshot the best rpg to come out since Final Fantasy XII ( If Dragon Quest VIII came out after that I'm Sorry I can't remember ) anyways Final Fantasy Crisis Core is simply amazing it has a fantastic soundtrack and a beutiful story with such memorable characters, the gameplay is very Kingdom Hearts esh and theres lots and lots of stuff to do. Otherwise I suggest you pick up Tales Of Eternia it's a accuired taste IMO but it's my second favourite PSP RPG, it has a slow moving story but it gets really good, it has nice graphics for a PS1 game and a really neat soundtrack I still reccomend Crisis Core over anything though.

I actually didn't play FFVII beforehand so the ending came to a saddening shock for me. But the battle system did get a bit a repetitive after a while, still enjoyed the game though.
if you like disgaea then jean d'arc is a good srpg that has a great story and new combat mechanics to the stragegy rpg genre. Albeit it is a little junvenile when compared to disgaea but sometimes a little less tactical game is a nice change of pace.
I also recommend gurumin cuz that game was fun as hell.

Yeah, I didn't like Crisis Core either. Just another by-the-numbers action RPG with zero thought involved.
