Yea and the difference is pretty huge! Either way the PS3 looks way better than the PS2 did but you can't get the full effect of the games without an hdtv.

All the tv's in my house are HD.... I didn't see what the PS3 looks like on a regular tv until I took it to a friend's house. He thought it was awesome.... but it made me want to throw up . Once you watch tv or play games on an HDTV, you just don't want to go back to regular tv's.

I had a SD when I first got the ps3 then switched to HD and the difference is huge. There's really no point in having a 600$ console if your not going to be able to get the best out of it.

A huge difference. SD looks like crap after you switch it from HD. Sharper, more vibrant picture, it's definitely worth it. It's like not having glasses when you need them-- and when you do get them everything looks A LOT better.

Yes, a HDTV is defintely a MUST...the difference is massive.

In fact, i'm getting my new 50' Grand WEGA Rear Projection TV anytime soon :)

Right now I'm stuck with this EDTV piece of crap.

there is no point just to spend $600 on a game console and than forced to spend another $1200.

You must of been living under a rock. Once you go HD everything else looks like crap. Haha. I bought my 27" Insignia for about $405 including tax at Bestbuy. It's max resolution is 1080i. You can find decent ones flat panel widescreen for less than a grand. If you're going to be playing not that far from your TV than 27" or 32" be good for you.
