Is metal gear solid 4 really violent?

well you CAN go through the whole game without killing anyone.

but even if you do, it's not too graphic. no one's getting arms blown off or anything. there's some blood, but not too much IIRC

...there are guns. Why ask such a foolish question? You're shooting people, are you really going to break your balls on seeing pixelated blood?

There's blood, but there's nothing brutal. You won't need to worry about gore or limbs popping off or anything. The most violent action you can do in the game is slit someone's throat.

It's not too bad, it's nothing like the Fallout games, or Bioshock(1!!!!!!!).

Some of the cut scenes have people getting impaled and crushed and stuff. Robotic arms through the gut, squeezed to death with robotic arms like a python, etc. I haven't found it really violent, but it definitely has some violence. I mean, you are in the middle of a war zone between waring factions.. :D
