Is it true that GTA4 won't work on SDTV?

I want to borrow my friend's GTA4 but he said I can't because it only works on HDTV.

Edit: I don't want to buy an HDTV just for GTA4 and I'm alredy contented with the graphics on SDTV since I don't really care about graphics.

to be honest it true, some GTA 4 games it says Only can be played on 720p/1080i

its written at the back of game. i dunnno if its the PAL or NSTC, the ps3 is region free,

not the tv tho!

google it on the net if u guys dont believe it, even heavenly swords and other games cant play it,

depending on YOUR SDTV too, whether your SDTV PAL or NTSC

well valid or not, stupid or not stupid, the fact is, its just wont work! its a 3rd generation console...the company wants us to play with maximum graphics ....i guess thats one of their points.telling to their consumer, " this is our greatest products for the 3rd gen"

its obviously depending on the game Discs.. whether its PAL or NTSC

and your SDTV whether its Pal or NTSC

because PAL and NTSC dont mix together

it works i played it on my crappy tv thats older than me hes lieingwwedx

May PS3 is Region 3 (asian version), SDTV is multi system.

I think I know why he said it won't work. His PS3 is also R3 but PAL.
