Is it just me or does Resistance still have better graphics than COD 4?

I think COD4 has better lighting, but besides that, RFOM looks better

i mean COD4 just tricks us into thinking it looks good, with 60FPS and the lighting system and all the post proccesing filters, you actually go look at the textures in COD4, they are atrocious

Actually, I have to agree to that. Up close, some textures just look really bad. It's just that the lighting and the consistent stuff happening around you that tricks your mind into thinking it looks really good. I thought the graphics during the missions with you and the sniper were really bad...especially the textures

Look at someone's face in resistance from an inch away - shoot at a wall and see stuff come off etc etc You can't just compare the overall look without getting down to details. Do agree with zero - monotone overall color which I think it is VERY appropriate for the game, but might make it misinterpreted....svenskamerikan

It is a stylistic choice, in which to give it more of a vintage/Gritty tone to it.

As it should have - the world is falling apart and all humans are being killed - gritty tone seems appropriate :)

It may be 600p but the frame rate has always seemed locked at 60fps to me, and it looks stunning for pulling it off. Resistance is definitely pushing way more polygons though, CoD4uses simpler models and oodles of bump mapping and post processing to mask it.

The graphic may be better, maybe, but the gameplay is by far the best in COD4. IMO these two games are like day and night.

I think its a pretty safe bet that a 3rd generation PS3 exclusive Insomniac game will look better than a 1st gen multiplat, even one as well done as CoD4.

Don't feel bad for anyone, It's his judgement on whatever type of game he likes. Call of Duty 4 is hands down awesome, I can't believe the 2 our mention in the same title.

It's not just him, I bought COD4 saturday expecting the best PS3 graphics out there, but I was disapointed, if you play resistance you'll see that everything is super ditailed, the difference is that resistance is more of gray image(vintage look) and COD4 is more color, but resistance is sharper than COD4 for sure. Now, no one of these games is close to Uncharted (graphic wise), Uncharted put Resistance and COD4 on their pockets.

COD4 is really not that great graphically, especially on a closer inspection. Yeah, it has a lot of smoke and a lot of particles going on, but that's about it. The shadows a EXTREMELLY low resolution, the normal mapping is again VERY low resolution and the detail textures are just drawn on walls with no sense of volume to them (look at the pipes in the prologue and you'll have a laugh).

RFOM actually seems to have a poor frame rate when compared to COD.. plus the detail in COD is far superior.

RFoM has a cleaner look to it... but i find CoD4 to just have way more detail. looking back to RFoM... the graphics look a bit cartoony compared to the games that we have out right now.c0mplex
