same here. i am usually on the top of my team n im still on lvl 0. n im not happy about not bein able to change ur clothes or color of ur clothes after u create ur character. n then u cant delete ur character or create a new one for what was 166 hours last time i checked... stupid crap!
For beta purposes I think they just want to keep everyone at the same level. I am very interested to see how the dynamics of the game improves once you can lvl up. Like CGC skills and the nano injection skill. You could ambush an enemy and inject, or run and gun faster. Also for the love of god improve the damage from the Frag grenade.
You use the skills you choose. If you have CQC mastery, use CQC more. If you have handgun mastery, use your handgun more. Fast move, I guess you just move around without crawling more.
I'm currently a lvl four, but I don't have a clue as to how I ranked up. I leveled up in my fast move and assault skills. I haven't seen too much of a difference in either skill when I use them.

Man, I was in a team death match last night and this guy from the other team was killing us with CQC grabs. But I was the one he was catching the most...it was frustrating...until I figured out how to reverse his attacks lol

I think that you only keep the Konami ID. I guess the characters are for Beta purposes. Imagine getting MGO in June and already being with better stats than the rest.
