The XBR2 sets all have clouding issues. I would recommend taking it back as the new sets with be out within a month. Also, why would you buy Bose anything? There is not one piece of Bose equipment that sounds better than those crappy logitech speakers.

best hdtv right now is the new samsung (ln-t4665f) check it out far, surpasses the xbr (still love xbr though) ( 15,000:1 contrast ration, 3 hdmi 1.3 inputs,1080p, beautiful casing)

They have a 40"- ln-t4065f

46": ln-t4665f

52"- ln-t5265f

Anybody interested in any tv for that matter do some internet shopping you can save a couple hundred online on brand new tv's.

websites: ibuyplasma.com, bestbuyplasma.com (i got the top of the line onkyo reciever off there worth $1000 for $600 so just goes to show u)

I've been thinking about getting the Bravia or the Samsung 46 inch.  The casing for both aren't that appealing for me.  I like the casing for the last gen Samsung TVs because it has the cool iPod like circle on the front bottom of the TV.

stick to bravia xbr if you can afforsd it especially if you can afford the new xbr3! they are still the best LVD's on the market you can check almost all reviews for it and its ranked the highest. if you cant afford that xbr3 go samsung great picture for about1500-1000 dollars less. oh yeah contrast ratio doesn't mean s**t its set by the manufacture.

You are wrong, in order of performance right now:

LN-T5265F

Sharp D92U/D93u (assuming no bands)

XBR2/3

The difference between the 65F and the xbr2 is pretty significant (besides sd content, the XBR2 excells at this).  I have professionally tested all three, and can guarantee you that I am correct.

ok i wont argue that the samsung and xbr2/3 are almost even but there is no way in hell the sharp can be second you must be crazy the sharp has so much problems with grainy images and pixalation, sharps give the best blacks and that it.

but if i was buying a tv i would buy samsung only because the xbr is way to overpriced because you pay mostly for its style.

I saw the Samsung at my local Magnolia today. This is the panel that may make me upgrade from plasma as the screen was absolutely stunning and was the first LCD panel that impressed me. The dynamic contrast ratio is surely inflated but once taken out of the crappy "in store mode" it was a site to see and far above all other LCDs. I agree with another poster that you should consider taking yours back and waiting for Sonys answer to Samsung. The glass is the same but it will be interesting to see how the Sony engine performs.

I can, the quality between a $500 LCD compared to a $1000 LCD is big.

$1000 is not that much money at all.  People spend $30k on a car every few years all the time.  Most people will enjoy their tv more hours per day than their car.  People who really want to enjoy their tv should set a base price around $1800.

Not all Americans are in debt up to their eye balls. I am not.  So be carefull when you say a general statement like that.  Where are you from?? Do you fit all of the sterotypes for your country?? Thats what I thought.

Browie, what do you think of the new Sony KDL-40V3000 and the new Samsung 81 series (with LED backlighting)?

I think you are talking to me, maybe.  I am excited to see the new 81 series.  From who I have talked to, some people believe it to be a "super plasma killer".  While that seems to be wishful thinking, local dimming and LED backlighting should be a significant change.  The new 40V3000 is not the same type of huge jump (although is looks much nicer than the model it replaces).  You should be seeing the 81 series possibly by june, they are out in Asia now, but obviously we get them a little bit slower.

Wow, nice tv, I consider that luxury even when I have a Sony 60inch 60A2020 1080p SXRD, I just can't imagine paying that much for a flat panel without it being over 60-65inches because of these sizes you can get in rear projection for that and the depth of the cabinet isn't a problem to me. Though, a flat panel would because it would have to be further away, closer to the wall and seem smaller on top of them being more limited in size.

3900 b/c it was reguarlly priced at 4600 but there was a berkshier hashway discount that i got and it was a big discount i also got a bose surround sound and it sounds sweet tojason13253

I find that hard to belive. I had bose and it sounds good at the store but when i brought it home the sound sucks. It was a big let down, after paying $3000 for it.

Bose is well accepted as the worst speaker company in terms of price/performance ratio.
