Hey i just thought of this interesting topic.

The PSP's controls are at times contrived and really do not work for some games.

So pick your genre, and make up the controls for a game. Think of some ideas that you would then put into that video game

I was thinking of third-person cover game where the controls are like this

analog stick: move

face buttons: move camera

L: aim

R: then is shoot, but without zoom is aim from hip like Uncharted 2

face buttons then become move and analog stick becomes aim

Hmm... have to think of more

so think of something and post here

The best way to do it is to have a default in every game with a customization menu to make your own scheme. Every game would benefit tremendously from that.

Control remapping ability for all games would majorly rock. That is a feature that I love that usually comes with PC games. I tend to favor certain hand placements and the ability to remap the controls on the keyboard, mouse, joystick, and whatever saves me a lot of hassle. Though, on some games on the PSP, anyways, I find the originally mapped controls work decently enough. Crisis Core's controls are very straight forward while Dissidia and Tekken tend to make me grumble at times.
