how to capture souls in folksoul?

I cannot seem to get the gameplay as it is japanese any 1 know how to kill that small respawn creature , they have blocked my way and I have got just 2 powers  used by triangle and X button.

did u figured out how to knock him down so i can see the soul, there is 2 power x and trinagle , x knocks it down but what is triangle for

one is a shield and the other an attack you can get others too...i got some rolling rock bug thingy...but i haven't really gotten that far

Visually its beautiful, but i cant figure out whats going on, due to it being in Japanese   LOL
