The cutcenes are long, its the culmination of a 4 game series and many questions are answered for long time fans. The story is incredible and so is the gameplay, but MGS games have never been known for being long, they have a high replay value especially this one since you have a ton of crap to play around with.
I'm at about twenty hours, give or take a few, and I'm still trying to make it through the bow of Liquid's ship. I'm not going to say the name because I don't want to create a potential spoiler, but damn is this part difficult. The game isn't as long as an RPG, but damn is there so much packed into those twenty hours. Like 1_Hit_Killer said, it's a culmination of years of storylines.I actually got emotional at some points. This is by far the most intense, incredible experience I've ever had on a gaming system.
