It really varies from person to person. If you rush through it, you can finish it in less than 10 hours. If you take your time and get all of the DLCs, it could last you 100+ hours.

what he said. If you don't have it yet wait for the GOTY edition that will include all the DLC within the disc.

Yeah. Get GotY. And, if you're PC can run it, get the PC version. It's ten times better and will last you even longer.

Like everyone is saying it varies, it depends on how much you put into the game. You can probably finish the campaign in around 15 hours but if you do the side quests and all the other stuff it will take you quite some time, It took me around 40 hours to get the platinum, there's also DLC.

My save file says I've played Fallout 3 for 170 hours. That's with all DLC.

It took me 30-40 hours the first play through. I did mostly side quests though, the main story is relatively short but there are tons of things to see and do when you're done.

I'm at 50h play time atm, with still 7 side quests and 7 main quests to do.

If you take your time with the game and explore a bit it'll last pretty long ;) This is why I love Bethesda games, you can keep playing them for as long as you want really.

It Very long considering to other games in the same genre, in Fallout 3 you are going to play for MANY hours, and never get tired of playing, because you will always find new quest/missions all over ze place. even if you are done with the main story line.

Um, I wouldn't say that exactly. I don't want to be spoiler, but without giving anything away...if you finish the main story, you CAN'T go back to finish your side quests (unless you continue from a previous save). Just a little heads up to anyone only playing the main game without the DLC.

pretty damn long especially if u want to explore a lot and do all the side quests, which u should. and of course the dlc extends it even further. i assume by making this thread u don't already have the game so i'd highly reccomend picking up the goty edition with all the dlc included

It has multiple endings and tons of area's to explore that I would put the game at 100+ hours. Although you can beat the game much quicker, it has an incredible amount of replay value.

I hit 43 hours without playing the final mission. But I don't have any DLC. If I did it would probably go to 60 to 80 hours.

If people are playing Fallout 3 just to get trophies, they're probably missing out on a lot. Just because you got the platinum trophy, that doesn't mean you've done everything there is to do in Fallout 3. Especially if you've played for less than 80 hours.

The game itself is average. But it will take you long time to beat all the side quests because it's really vast. I've found it to be a little boring though, expecially the envoirment (it's cool, but it looks the same all over and over). Just my opinion though.

Don't do all the main missions at once and make sure you don't sell your nuka cola quantums. Trust me.

Main story is pretty short, with the Broken Steel DLC it is increased by a hour or two. But if you go for every single quest then it will take you awhile.
