i own a phat psp. playing sims or those games with twitchy controls like superbike 2007 and pro evo just seems impossible!

I have been doing a bit of reaserch and have found that the conrols have been improved on the slim psp.

so could some one please tell me if the improvements are noticable enough?

Also i have only had this console for a week now, so is it worth selling this and buying a slim for JUST THE IMPROVED CONTROLS? (i am not bothered about the loading times and the tv output etc)

thanks

ag179.

you probably shouldn't bother, the buttons are only slightly raised and hardly noticeable. It's not worth the effort.

Not so much the nub, but the d-pad is raised and makes it actually possible to play Tekken. It has more of a dual shock feel to it (dpad).

I do find the nub on the slim to be smoother.

i know people have already said this but the more people say it, the more believable it is. yes the d-pad is a big improvement. i broke mine on the phat PSP playing tekken but on the slim, im not scared anymore to use it.

I was wondering the same thing, from what i gather though, there isnt to much of a difference except the buttons arent so hard to press.

i never had a psp fat, but i like the feel of the Dpad on my slim. The analog is still pretty twitchy. But in games like GTA VCS, you can change up the controls (in the shooting range for example) so you can aim using the dpad. and driving in games like Flat out, u can use either one.

The d-pad and buttons are definitely improved so that you can notice the difference, but the difference isn't greatly significant.

It's better is what you need to know.

And if you're not afraid of opening up your PSP, there's an amazing d-pad mod you can use that'll render any advantages the Slim has button-wise null.
