Personally, I really like Sci-Fi if it's in small doses, like in Killzone. No laser beams or lizard-faced aliens, please.

Um, something based on future technology shouldn't be regarded as Science Fiction. It's Science Fact. More the example of Ghost Recon or something like Metal Gear. Most devices used in those games actually exist in testing or prototype stages and have been proven that they really do. All they've done is sped up the R&D process (where it would be set in the future) and applied it to a useful application in a theoretical sense "this could be the end result". In fact, probably 50% of the tech used is actually past test phases today with some actually applied on the battlefield.
Killzone = SciFi? Yes
Ghost Recon = SciFi? NO.
lol dude, do you know what fiction means? Something that doesn't exist or hasn't happened. Science Fiction = Something that is scientifically possible or plausible, but does not exist or has never been seen. So Ghost Recon Future Soldier for example. Shoulder mounted anti-tank rockets? Uranium bullets (don't know if you know how big a deal that is), invisible cloaks and did you see that "holographic" sight? That doesn't even make sense. So yeah. I got your point, but Ghost Recon's still science fiction, cuz those sorts of weaponry and equipment are long ways from now. They even said on an interview, some stuff they used on the game aren't even projects yet, they're still being considered, by the US army research division.Um, something based on future technology shouldn't be regarded as Science Fiction. Guaracy-
Thanks. :P And I have been told, a couple of times.
Depends how well put together it is... Star wars was amazing and fantastic... However some things such as Jason X. Not so much. It needs to be well put together to make it a good Sci Fi... In science you need a reason! Even if it is fictional!
