you turn off the PS3, but it takes a little longer to shut off, & right before it shuts off, it makes two beeping noises & then finally shuts off? simple overheating i hope. happened to me last night & i got spooked. turned it on this morning & it workes like a charm.

Happens to me quite a lot actually.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm not sure what it means, but my PS3 does it often and it is fine.

Sounds like a firmware lockup. Its happened to me before but its been a while. If this happens every time you shut down, id contact sony, or you could just wait and update the firmware when it comes out.

Once in a while i think is fairly normal, but I would be worried if my console froze all the time, like someone said "...quite alot actually"

Firmware lock up? I doubt it. There's nothing wrong with your system.

yea this happen to me all the time. only time this happen if u use internet on the ps3 look for the load thingy on the top right u c it loading. if it still loading but u cant move the scroll, don't do anything else or it will freeze instead, hold the ps home button wait for it to shutdown, usually makes a beep sound then turns off. basically wut it mean is that ur hard drive is reading something and usually happen once in a while. Don't worry about it, its not going to messed up the system. just turn it off safely, turn it back on and everything is back to normal.

i might be wrong but i heard that happens when u turn it off, and itstrying tocomplete a task, or save something to the hdd. but no worries the reason why it takes longer before it makes the tree beeps is because it completes the task. the beeps are its way of saying f you ill shut down when im done u bastard! lol

it actually happens to me only when a game freezes.. or gets stuck on loading or something.. but the only reason it happens is because i restart the system.. so when it turns off.. it gives me those two beeps.. nothing major.. its happened to me a handfull of times.. and most recently with GTA.. i wouldn't worry about it.. i would just think of it.. as your playstation saying "Sorry" to you.. like those CD players that apologized when they skipped..
