Ok listen up, about the freezing issues....
I'm not claiming to be an expert on gaming tech or programming, but I've seen this kind of problem before in PC games, and I'm pretty sure about what it is and how to fix it (at least for offline solo play, you may have to wait for a patch for reliable online)
This is a software memory leaking issue, where the game holds on to more data in the system memory then it should, and it builds over time till you run out of RAM and you get a crash or freeze. There is a way to fix this problem on the software side with a patch, its not a huge deal, but I can't understand how this was not picked up in testing. In the mean time, there is some things you can do to maximize the PS3 RAM, and as far as I can tell, completely avoid the freezing.
First off, you DO NOT have to uninstall your game, or delete any save files. This has nothing to do with the issue.
Now, you need to do these things: Disable ingame messages, and message notices. Disable your Information Board. Disable your screensaver. Then after that, disable Media Servers, then Disable Internet Connection. After that open your Browser( you'll get a page not found screen) and from that go to tools and delete your cookies and dump your cache.
Once all thats done, just boot up that game as normal, and you should be fine. I began to get freezing issues about 10 hours into the game, and after maxing my memory, the problem has completely gone away, and i played for about 3 hours straight tonight.
I hope this helps, and if this is what I think it is, the patch should come quickly, its not a major problem to fix.
