But my blu-ray drives is dead and I've never /had/have a yellow light.

so, long story short; i got the yellow light today. i'm waiting for mom to get home so i can find the receipt. i have a couple of questions that i would be so grateful if they were to be answered. 1. if you sent in your playstion3 before how long did it take to get back? 2. did they send you a new one or a refurb? 3. if they sent you a refurb did it work like new? were the fans loud? 4. if you also had an xbox and had to send it in for repair, how's the ps3 customer service compared to xbox? thanks so much please help me outpatrick5152003

Within the first 2 years perhaps, then it's like 15% chance. Remember the ps2 LUE's? :)
