I liked the first one better, just my opinion though

i tried the demo, i didnt like it, but when i play the full version, it was not that bad

The demo for both games are available - simply give both of them a spin and follow your heart's desire.

Personally, I like going through games chronologically by release, even if the second game is critically better then the first. With regards to Patapon specifically, I played 3ish hours into it, and found the game play wasn't my thing. I purchased it more because my girlfriend wanted a "drumming game" to play when she took my PSP, but I tried to enjoy it, but couldn't :S

I'd say go chronologically. If you intend on playing both eventually then go 1 -> 2. The core gameplay is pretty much the same, but there was alot of stuff added in 2 that you'd just miss if you played 2 -> 1 and you'd enjoy 1 a bit less.

If you can only get one and don't intend on buying the other (though I don't see why not..they're both fairly cheap), then get 2

From what Ive read the 2nd is a download only game. Thats about all I know It has been recommended to me tho by fellow gamers
