Go Buy UT3 Now!!!

I've already seen that there are a few threads concerning GS's UT3 review... I haven't bothered to read their review myself (haven't read any of their reviews in about a year), but I can tell you that if you own a PS3 and you like playing games online, YOU NEED to own this game.

For those that do not have online, this game is probably not worth more than a rent. The cutscenes are incredible and display some of the most beautiful graphics I've seen on the PS3 (if not THE most beautiful). But the story isn't worth much & the single player campaign is just the multiplayer maps w/ bots instead of real players.

The maps themselves though are freakin brilliant. There's some real variety in there... and we're not talking about just 6-8 maps. I haven't counted yet but I'm sure there's at least 20 or more... I'm still coming across new maps & I've been playing the game for a week! The weapons are fun as hell too. And some of the vehicles are just as brilliant as the maps... there are a few that I don't like as much but for the most part, I think you'll enjoy pretty much any vehicle available.

But the bottom line is that if you enjoy playing games online... you won't find a better one than this on the PS3 right now. And yes, I own COD4 too ;-)

why? is that gonna make the ps3 version worse if it goes to the 360?...

awesome, i cant play mine til christmas which sucks big time. but ive got a question, is this ur first time to play a UT game? if so, did u get beat kinda bad when u started playing? ive heard that newcomers get owned pretty good, and ive never played a UT game before, but im pretty good online when it comes to other shooters, so i was just wondering that if im pretty good at other shooters if ill have to worry when it comes to UT3. also, hows warfare mode? i saw the tournament that gamespot had for the pc version and warfare mode looked awesome._SOULtoSQUEEZE_

Lol, quite a few questions there... I'll try to get all of them. First of all, Warfare mode is AWESOME. Probably my single favorite mode... although really, I do enjoy all of them.

And yes, this was my first time playing a UT game. I do play online shooters (Resistance, COD4, & Warhawk)... this has been the easiest of all of them for me to jump in and get the hang of. The gameplay is simple and fun.... run & gun. Kind of has that addictive arcade feel to it.

To me, it's a game that welcomes newcomers & vets alike.

Yea, that sounds about right! Unlike COD4 where you vote to skip maps, UT3 allows you to vote on which map to play on... and the list is freakin HUGE. That's actually one of the most exciting parts of the game. Since the weapons are pretty much the same each map (not counting vehicles), it's actually the maps that add so much variety to the game... like the maps where you play in low gravity! Freakin awesome!

already own UT3, although i haven't played it much, been way too into COD4 still. that game is like cancer, once you get it, its pretty dang tough to get out :Pamericahellyeah

Yea, I have COD4 & still play it... but not nearly as much now that I've been on UT3 for the last week. They're totally different types of fps titles. UT3's style of gameplay & design is just more addictive to me.

its a good game but its got its fair amount of flaws there are 43 maps and 47 i believe if you count the variant maps. also maps are specific to the gametype so there are only like 6 vehicle ctf maps and so on.clarkportmanken

Yea, just figured that out recently... most of the maps seem to be available for deathmatch & tdm... ctf, vehicle ctf, & warefare all seem to have their own individual maps of 6 or 7 or so each. Still ends up being a very awesome variety. I haven't noticed many flaws with the game myself... besides the single player mode which is not worth playing if you have access to broadband. Haven't tried playing with bots either so I'm not sure how good that is or isn't. But the online gameplay is superb.

gameplay and graphics are both great....its got a learning curve, ull find it impossible to kill someone online the first few times...graphics are just awesome, really good and sharp textures the frames are steady

BUT its not worth getting if u dont hav internet...cause the single player isnt great..and cause theres no splitscreen or coop

well preordered mine from video game plus (canada gamestore)on the 10th and it arrived on the 18th i live in england its a fantastic game with all the old magic of the older ones and only missing a few things some maps we all loved from ut like for me face was my fav ctf map of all time so simple but mods wil put it in at a later date. the graphics are great only a tiny bit of lag on the high ping servers but its the same for every game online. you will like the new link gun and minigun hybrid
