I know I know I seen that game reccomendation thread up there but it's just so big and my post might go unnoticed :P

Anyway, I plan on getting a PS3 soon and I wanted to know if there was a difference between a slim and a fat and if so, what kind?(besides being smaller and bigger duh!).

Also what are the BEST games for the PS3 (I Plan on searching too). I like RPG, Shooters, Tatical/Stragety, Adventure. I really don't like playing kidish games unless they're fun but really no no no (animeish kinda games are alright, no naruto please).

~ Thanks.

EDIT: Ok I like RPG Games, Horror Games, Tatically/Stragety, Adventure, Shooters (FPS Or Not). I love Final Fantasy Tatics (And 7, 8, X, XII). Persona 3 for PSP Is amazing, has to be my favorite game in a long time. F.E.A.R Project Origins is also amazing, Fable II (I know it's for the 360 lol). Resident Evil 5 was alright, no where near as good as the last in the series. Kingdom Hearts I also liked. I really don't like games with alot of grinding, I mean I can stand it and do it if the game requires it but I really like the games with great stories and plots, cutscenes are nice too.

What games have you played so far this generation?

If you haven't played any...I'll tell you my favorites.

I'm a pretty big RPG fan, though I haven't found anything turn based that has been an enjoyable experience on the ps3.

Oblivion, while it has its flaws, is geenrally a worthwhile experience, The same can be said for fallout 3, though I bought that 3 months ago and haven't played more than a few hours. It's kind of slow at the beginning and I simply have too many other games.

Dragon Age is another absolutely fabulous RPG title. I'm playing it on PC which is probably the preferred platform, but it's still worth picking up if you only have a ps3. I think they're releasing a new version with all the DLC included, so look for that.

My absolute favorite RPG this gen is Demon's Souls. While I'm all for a great story-driven narrative (Dragon Age), Demon's Souls is one of the most enjoyable RPG experiences I've had in a long time. It's something truly unique, has the right amount of character customization, and overall is just plain addictive. You definitely have to be patient in the beginning, but it's one of the ps3's best exclusives.

Otherwise, some of my favorites include Uncharted 2, God of War III, and Assasin's Creed if you're into the whole action thing. For open world games, you really can't go wrong with InFamous, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and Just Cause 2.

Eh I can't say what games I played for this generation, my brother has a PS3 but I don't use it much + I'm always working and he's always on it anyway but I played F.E.A.R. tried Halo for 360 (didn't like it much). Fable 2 (loved it). Resident Evil 5 (good, not as good as the others). Eh I can't think of much now. I tried Dragon Age on my PC but my PC sucks so it was always crappy but still I liked it.

I clarified some stuff on my first post, if you read now :)

Okay, well I'm going to assume you' haven't played anything at all this gen.

Shooters: As much hate as it gets I like to play MW2. I don't however claim it to be the be-all end all, I just enjoy fast paced in your face online games, not so much of a single player fan. If you're into single player campaigns for FPS', then check out the first Resistance: Fall of Man, Killzone 2, or Battlefield Bad Company 2. Killzone still has a decent community, and BFBC2 is quite active. I would say BFBC2 is more tactile and working with a team, so if that's your thing, really look into that.

You also listed strategy games, which I would point you towards Valkyrie Chronicles. I'd suggest playing it for the ps3, and picking up the sequel for your ps3 as well. I too love the persona series, unfortunately I haven't really found anyhhting like it on the ps3.

I really wish there was a classic RPG on the ps3. Something like Dragon Quest VIII or the like....those are the best! Still hoping...
