I hate GameStop, they rip you off so bad on trade deals. And they put those stupid stickers on the covers of games that are so hard to get off, and when you do get rid of them they leave behind this really sticky glue, it's just a mess. I avoid them, especially becasue the guy at my local GameStop was a bit of a jerk to me.

Who cares gamestop rips you off and the trade in market is only for broke bums. If a $60 game is a financial strain and you have to rely on the pittance gamestop offers in trade in value to buy a game you should really re-prioritize your spending habits.

While I agree that GameStop rips people off, I think you went a bit far calling people broke bums because they don't want to pay $60 for a game. I am not a "broke bum" and I often wait for games to drop down in price before I buy them, simply because I feel that $60 is simply too much for most games.

LOL so many things wrong with this post. Me and my girl have a great living, I could go out and buy every new 60 dollar game out there if I wanted too, but I don't. If I have older titles laying around not getting played there is not a damn thing wrong with me trading them in to knock a few extra bucks off a new title of my choice, so please stop.

Everyone who complains about trade-in prices at GameStop need a reality check. Nobody is forcing you to trade your games in there. Nobody.

I worked at GameStop while in grad school and experienced first hand the average trade in customer. Maybe I should have said the majority of trade in customers are broke bums educated guess about 90% always complaining about the prices and trying to barter. You would make up the 5% of the trade in customers. The other 5% are either children who don't know any better and thieves who are trying to trade in games and accessories. If you're looking to sell a used game use craigslist or ebay don't use gamestop.

This +1 Gets really annoying hearing people say GS stinks at their Trade-Ins but every non GS store offers the same if not worse value, then the people selling the trade in game, sell the game for a higher price than what Gamestop is offering, which drives me insane. Oh by the way about this topic, did you even notice the prices of those games? They were marked-up that's why the trade-ins are so high.

Sorry for double post, and about the stickers, I don't know about you guys but I find them a lot less of a problem than they used to be, plus you can always tell if the sticker was recently put on so it can be very easy to take off without any problems, even though I could give a rat's butt about stickers.

I don't trade games in, it's a shafting... But I DO buy them used, all the time. I'm far from a "broke bum"; I just see no reason to buy a blu-ray disc for full price when used copies of this newer format are (usually) in great shape - Unless it's a Limited Edition or a "rare bird", a copy of a game is a copy of a game. What sort of point do you prove by paying the big bucks for a game when it's available for half to a quarter of the asking price brand-new? No one's impressed by a $60 price tag on a game case.

Now, buying a Ferrari new, THAT'S impressive and can/should move people by your status. But a video game? Please.

Paying more for a game on principle when it's available cheaper in the same condition is simply being an ignorant shopper. I'm all about the case and printed materials being in good shape as a condition of purchase, but past that, I see no reason to do otherwise. I have purchased less than 6 PS3 games at full price in order to support a dev and show my appreciation, but outside that I have over 50 titles all purchased used or brand-new-reduced-price (which I like because then the dev/ publisher still gets some bucks for their efforts).

It's important to note for myself, too, that I'm a game collector, so trade-in isn't a part of my lexicon. I buy games which I'm going to keep. Casual-interest games are rented or borrowed.

PS - I have several GS stores I visit from time to time, and the employees have always been very nice to me. I think they're a good chain an I respect anyone with the patience and Zen mind-set to work in that environment. So, props to you if you work there - Especially around this time of year!

;)

Sorry to double-post as well, but if you want those stickers off (and the new ones GS uses come off VERY clean so you-all must be getting some OLD stickers), just peel off as much as you can without damaging the plastic sheath, and then use some Goof-Off. That stuff cleans easily & clearly, no damage to the plastic, and your cases look brand-new. Give it a shot.

Any water proofing spray and a razor blade will get the stickers off with no residue. Spray on the sticker, let it soak in, take the edge of the blade and peel the sticker off.

Why do they make stickers like that that leave behind such a hard residue? It's like they don't want you to remove the sticker, and if you do, you get punished for it.

Got to give a little to get a little. Good for people that trade their games in. I for one don't. I buy games I want to play and replay. Thankfully I get to play new titles for free, so I don't buy a lot of newer games, just take them for a test drive.

They really have no choice but to offer more money. Their is to many options now to make more selling on e-bay or amazon.
