For those who sent in 60 gigs...

how long does it take to get it back and do i have to take the hardrive out to save my content? I just found out that my readers broken so im sending it in to sony.

This is kind of off topic, but is it guaranteed that you will get a 60GB, if that's the one you sent in? Do they usually repair it or just send you a new one? Cause as far as I know 60GB's aren't in production anymore. Just wondering because I own a 60GB and that's the only way I'll go.SOedipus

as far as i know they will send you a new 60g i had to have mine sent in and they sent me a refurb 60g back and this was about 3 months ago i still think they have them they are just not selling them

I dropped off my 60 gig PS3 at the UPS Store today. Sony promised the standard 10-14 business days. I'll let you know when I get mine back.

Also, I'm on my third Xbox 360 and when I heard the horror stories of Microsoft taking at least a month to repair/replace 360's I just took it back to the store (Game Crazy) and they gave me a new one there both times, but when I tried to take back my PS3 to the same store, they freaked out and said that Sony would sue them if they exchanged it. Anyone know if there is any truth to Sony filing a lawsuit over that? I'm guessing the guy working there was ill-informed.
