Favourite boss fights

My topsix would have to be:

1. Lasaravich (Uncharted 2) - He was tough on crushing :(

2. Daedelus (Resistance 2)

3. Poison Ivy (Batman AA)

4. Kessler (Infamous) this was definetely my favourite.

5. Leader off the first Assassin's creed. - He was hard unlike the pope in AC2.

6. Dr Naferious (Ratchet and Clank: ACIT)

I forgot about Cronos in God of War, that was sooooo good, but TBH I found the joker battle at the end of batman a bit of a let down. Poison Ivy and Killer Croc's were better and more enjoyable.

Ending of MGS4 was pretty fkn heated as well. I don't think I could pick a favorite out of those two =\

My top 5 are:

1. Last boss of Shadow of the Colossus.

2. Last form of murai in Ninja Gaiden Sigma (He was immensly hard on hard mode)

3. Zera Innocentios, Final form of Valmar in Grandia 2

4. Frank Fontaine in Bioshock

5. Ahriman in Prince of Persia (2008)

I also agree that Lazeravitch was a good boss and very hard on crushing but the only thing that spoiled it for me was that there is a cheap tactic to beating him easily. I found it on the internet. All you do is shimmy around a block, wait for him to come then shoot the resin behind him.

Well, I can think of one I just completed yesterday, which was the Episode 3 boss (does it have a name?) on Lost planet 2. This wasn't a boss you just spam bullets on. It ACTUALLY takes strategy and teamwork. To cool the cannon, and load bullets, energize bullets, aim the cannon, rotate the cannon.

Alot of the Demon's Souls bosses. The only boss that really stand out to me right now is Thardus from Metroid Prime. I remember walking into that circular arena expecting some monster to jump out of the big pile of at the center of the area, only to have THE rocks themselves jump up forming Thardus.

3- Dr. Nefarious (R&C ACiT)

4- Baby Panay (Just Cause 2)

I definitely have to agree with Dr. Neferious. I've always loved the Ratchet & Clank games and that reminded me of the old school Crash Bandicoot bosses. As far as recent epic bosses I've faced, I'd have to say Poseidon in God of War III. Just the overall scale of the battle was incredible. The God of War series has always come through with great boss fights.

*Spoilers, obviously*

Let's see. I'll keep it to PS3 games only. As this topic would get massive with other titles. Well... games that are on the PS3, not just exclusives.

Radec from Killzone 2. Fighting him actually meant something, and he presented an interesting fight.

Scarecrow segments from Batman: Arkham Asylum was interesting, but not so much a boss. Still, it was really memorable.

Kessler from Infamous. Not too difficult but I'm bias to that character because that's my last name.

The Leviathan from Dead Space was a really clever design and one of the most memorable boss battles in the game.

Alma from Ninja Gaiden Sigma remains one of the most challenging bosses I've ever fought against. I can still beat the crap out of her, but I can never do it perfectly.

Wesker from Resident Evil 5. I love the series and finally confronting him was pretty cool.

Poseidon from God of War 3. Enough said.

Crying Wolf was my favorite boss from Metal Gear Solid 4. All the bosses were great but having a sniper battle in the middle of a blizzard on the same battlefield where you conquered Sniper Wolf... awesome. Add on top of that your enemy is a cyborg thing with a rail gun and you're surrounded by soldiers. I loved that fight.

Finally, I had an epick battle with False King in Demon's Souls. It was one of the fasted paced fights I had in that game and when he landed a hit it really hurt. It was really memorable but I can't say it would have been the same for all players.

That's all I can think of now. There are moments in Assassin's Creed 2, Resistance, and Uncharted that stand out but they're more set pieces and not so much bosses.

If Dead or Alive gave the world jiggle physics, Dante's Inferno gave it wang physics.

...ahem... On topic, and keeping it current gen, i'd say some of my favourites are:

• Crying Wolf and Liquid Ocelot in MGS4.
• Jeanne (final) in Bayonetta
• Lazarevic in Uncharted 2
• Hades in GOW3

...which have mostly been said by everybody else. There're probably more, but at the moment these are the ones i can think of from the top of my head.

Wow its this thread again. And Ignore my post earlier, I must have been insane to mention a horrible Just Cause boss fight. :?

4) Navarro (Uncharted 1)

Obviously a thread about boss fights has to have some god of war and Metal gear solidclassics .

Mine are any of the boss fights from the GOW series and any boss fight from the MGS series. I was actually gonna pick them and make a list but its just too hard. But I LOVED the psycho mantis boss fight in MGS1. No other game has a boss like that. It was such a good boss fight.

every boss in god of war 3 was grouse...

my favs are:

1. Zeus in God Of War 3..now thats a battle of titans

2. kessler on hard in Infamous, talk about tough

3. The Mantis fight at the end of MGS4...crazy fight

4. The plane level in Bad company 2..awesome

The End from MGS3 without a doubt. One of the longest (and most satisfying) bossfights ive ever done. It wasnt frustrating either, becase of the stealth elements. It was just awesome!

AFter that ill probably have to go with Penetrator and flamelurker from demons souls, almost all of the colossi in SotC, and fighting the queen in Ico wasnt so bad either.

Those are my most memorable. I have fought a million bosses that I cant remember at the moment. So for the time being, those are my favorites.
