I'm sorry to hear that. My ps3 runs pretty smooth in the summer. I have it in a fairly small room and my AC unit keeps it really cold in here.

Don't worry about it overheating, just as long as its in a well ventilated area (preferably out in the open) you have nothing to worry about. Besides whats the fun in having a game system if you're worrying about it failing while you're playing.

Sorry to hear that, I'm not sure why yours get so loud. Mine is very quite and runs smoothly. If you want to play it in Summer, just take it out to the living room.

My PS3 has been through it's fair share of summer's since I bought it on release day. I dont dust it, ever. I usually just leave it on when I dont play it during the day, unless I go to bed. Even when I go to bed I dont fully turn it off, I just have it on with the red light. My PS3 is a champ. Sure, sometimes during the summer, the fan goes faster and it's kind of a scary moment. Whatever though, it's lasted this long so it should keep on truckin' .

I'm just gonna open my windows and have my fan all day. I'll sacrifice a little sweat in order to play my PS3.

i totally know what the OP means. My room gets totally too hot over the summer to play PS3 for longer than an hour or two.. AC, fans, open windows... nothing helps. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on the angle of conversation) I've been living in the family room of my parents' house the last week while I'm recovering from reconstructive knee surgery. It's much bigger than my room with plenty of ventilation. I'll be here for at least 2 more weeks, so fortunately I'll be able to play PS3 without worrying about heat for at least that long ;-)

Put your PS3 right by your air conditioner. That should help.

my ps3 got loud last night because it was pretty warm in san jose yesterday. I'm going to have to place a fan next to it because my house has no ac and the sun basically engulfs my room in the afternoon.

I guess that means no PS3 for you until it gets colder. :(
