E3: "The Last of Us 2" announcement?

If that doesn't happen.... then **** this year's E3!!!

I don't see why they would do this. The focus would be to hype up Uncharted 4 right now.

There are rumors monthes before most of the big games announced in E3...and big project like The Last of Us 2 would be even few years before. i don't know where or what makes you think about this kind of announcement. maybe after Uncharted 4 nauthy dog start to working on it.

Absolutely loved The Last of Us, but I would still be okay with it not getting a sequel. I suppose I'm still open to another, but different, story set in the same world. But I doubt it would live up to the first game, to be honest. Anyway, Naughty Dog has Uncharted 4 to focus on right now as far as finishing and marketing goes. Maybe there is another The Last of Us in development right now, but I don't think we're going to hear about it this year if that's true.

Naughty Dog does have two teams, after Uncharted 2 was finished, the studio split into a team that worked on Uncharted 3 while the other started work on Jak 4 and eventually went on to do the Last of Us. I might have it a little mixed up, but I remember they split into two teams.

@verbtex: Yeah that's why I mentioned that the sequel, if one exists, could be in development right now. But I figure their main focus right now would be showing off Uncharted 4 as far as E3 is concerned instead of announcing anything new.

Don't want another. Thought the game had a great story but there was nothing special about the world or gameplay itself. Despite it being good, it just doesn't lend itself to a franchise the way Uncharted does.

The story is not great. It's been done a thousand times. Watch some films & read some fuckin' books. You'll see...

Doubt it will be announced until at least next year. ND is focused on UC4, and Sony is still passing out free copies of TLoU packed into PS4s. Can't see them announcing a TLoU sequel now.

I think it's important to allow the team peace and quiet to get what ever sequel or prequel or whatever right (what ever the hell that would be). I read articles these days that says it might become a prequel not focusing on Ellie and Joel, which I'm sorry to say sounds bloody awful to me. But, I also suspect that it could be a ruse to minimize the hysteria surrounding the development, so they'll be less pestered. Us end users have a dumb tendency to love these things to death sometimes. (Or, it could simpy be that the agents of the original voice talents now want too much cash, and the powers that be just decides to write them out. Which would also be bloody awful, but unfortunately not the first time the inbred business standards ruins potential marvelous storytelling.)

Because a sequel won't tarnish the highly original story from the first...

Great game but never really understood the hype to be honest...

Man, i wanted this but lets be honest to heart. It's too soon and they had to build the hype machine for the last Uncharted game. Maybe next year we can get a mind blowing teaser for TLOU 2 and then a new IP from ND.

Are people really that much more excited for Uncharted 4? Doesn't seem like it.

It might not happen this year but you better believe that TLOU will get some form of a sequel or prequel eventually.
