You don't really NEED an HD TV for the PS3 to work because you simply get the component AV cables for a normal SDTV.

If i were you though, I'd get an HDTV for the PS3 because it simply makes things look WAY better. Take Uncharted: Drake's Fortune as an example... On SDTV is looks normal-ish but on an HD TV it looks stunning.

If you want the HDTV, get something like a Samsung 32" or around that, or even a nice Sony or Sharp Aquos.

I had my PS3 for a couple months without an HDTV. While the difference is there, the PS3 is a lot of fun in SD. If you have the cash to spare, grab a set. Don't forget the HDMI cable, get that from monoprice.com.

This is so TRUE! I remember I played Uncharted on SDTV and beat it, then later on I got my HDTV. I heard all the buzz about how good the water looks, it looks like a BRAND new game. So, I finally booted up this game and I was STUNNED!! Really, I was like WHOA! I said to myself just like the poster said himself " I'll never play on SDTV again", Trust me man. If you could get one, doesn't have to be the best brand or size. Find something that you could afford, once you do get one. I suggest you pick up this game, You'll thank us later.
